a-n degree show takeover 2019: gray’s school of art

#andegreeshowtakeover by @fk.art Closing today's takeover is the work of Amy Barnett @amylbarnett_ which, in contrast to other works in the show which encourage us to get closer with nature in the here and now, invites us to connect with the less-than-natural world that may exist long after we're gone. Attempting to "aetheticise the Anthropocene", Barnett creates tactile geological artefacts from synthetic composite materials, enhanced by a crunchy, sensory soundtrack made in collaboration with Bea Dawkins. From this work, it's clear the artists at Gray's are concerned not only with where they stand but with where they're headed. Thank you for following along with my degree show takeovers! It's been wonderful to do this again with a year of distance from my own degree show and to witness so many new ideas and approaches from the class of 2019. You can find my work over at @fk.art – fingers crossed we might meet again. Bye for now! #andegrees19 #graysschoolofart #rgu #graysdegreeshow #aberdeen #contemporaryart #fineart #scotland @grayscontemporaryart.19 @grayspainting19
