#andegreeshowtakeover by @fk.art Hi! I'm FK McLoone, and I'll be covering the DJCAD degree show in Dundee for a-n today. Starting with where I fit in to all this – you can find my own work among my Fine Art coursemates at the top of the Crawford building. My work, which looks at the unremarkably modern aesthetics of the shopping centre, sits alongside the gruesome yet fascinating soft sculpture of @rachelmccreadie_ and the lively poetry and performance of @oddanw (Dan O'Dempsey). Stay tuned for some more cross-disciplinary work from DJCAD's Contemporary Art Practice courses! #andegrees18 #djcad #djcaddegreeshow #contemporaryart #sculpture #performance #installationart #dundee #scotland

#andegreeshowtakeover by @fk.art Among the Contemporary Art Practice exhibitions, DJCAD presents a variety of film and moving image works. India Moorjani's @indiaemilie video installation allows you to get inside her head and follow the highs and lows of her mental health journey. Emma Dempsey's @ejdempsey short film "Tiny Books" @tinybooksfilm follows a conversation between the optimist and pessimist in us all. Megan June @meganjune_ uses experimental filmmaking to symbolise the search for sanctuary in the wake of sexual violence. Fans of moving image should also check out the animation cinema on level 5 of the Matthew building! #andegrees18 #djcaddegreeshow #djcad #dundee #contemporaryart #scotland #videoart #filmmaking #shortfilm #installationart #animation

#andegreeshowtakeover by @fk.art The theme of family relationships (with those living and passed) is a relatable and recurring one, but these three artists consider the topic with a fresh approach. Caitlyn Vesey @cv_fineart recreates her grandfather's greenhouse in a living, multisensory installation. Sobia Ashraf @sobiarashid uses turmeric and rice to represent her relationship with her mother and her British Pakistani identity. Martha Howden @marthahowden creates an image of absence and memory – recreating the brain affected by Alzheimer's in memory of her grandfather. #andegrees18 #djcaddegreeshow #djcad #dundee #contemporaryart #scotland #installationart #painting #performanceart #videoart #photography
