fk mcloone: ideal spaces

poster design by fk mcloone

Ideal Spaces represents an ongoing aesthetic study of domestic design through the lens of the home makeover. Presenting the design of our own living spaces as a tool of transformation, personal empowerment and creative fulfilment, the artist explores parallels to new age spirituality and artistic practice, considering where consumerism and class may challenge or reinforce these connections.

McLoone works from the perspective of an optimistic amateur, attempting to shape a system of meaning from images of the inspirational and aspirational, and to weigh their own comfort and reluctance toward feeling at home in this landscape.

Preview: Friday 1st Nov, 6-8pm
